Best Anime TV Series of All Time
Anime used to have such a niche following, especially in the United States, with viewers and fans being far and few in between. When I started watching Japanese animation in high school, I found it difficult to find new anime TV shows and movies to binge-watch. Now, anime is a 24 billion dollar industry and has become mainstream in countries all over the world. No matter if you’re an obsessive otaku that watches an episode as soon as it’s released or you’re just a casual enthusiast who likes to watch it every once in a while, you’ll find something perfect for you on my list.
In short, some of my personal best is:
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Over twenty years after its original release, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood continues to wow its viewers today. The anime follows the story of two brothers – Ed and Alphonse Elric – alchemists who face several different problems such as reviving their deceased mother with forbidden alchemy. You’ll see the brothers fighting with their demons, acknowledging their mistakes, and giving in to their desires in this not-so-classic military drama. Watching Brotherhood is an essential anime experience that is mature and unique.
Mob Psycho 100
You’ll follow the adventures of Kageyama Shigeo in Mob Psycho 100. The main character, a boy who is nicknamed Mob, is a powerful esper (psychic) who also has trouble expressing himself. He tries to suppress his powers and live a normal life but something terrible happens to him every time he becomes highly emotional. Personally, I’m attracted to the technicolor style and film-quality action sequence as well as Mob’s contagious attempt to always live life to the fullest. It’s equal parts dramatic and emotional as it is whacky and comedic, so if that’s your style then Mob Psycho 100 is a great choice for you.
I hope you enjoy this list as much as I did writing it! Let me know some of yours!
