Summary of Gintama Season 4

Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura have come back as the broke but fun-loving members of the Yorozuya team. They are seeking work where they can find it, as usual. But this time they are doing it in an alternate-reality of the Edo they are used to. Here, swords are illegal, and Japan has been conquered by alien overlords. They try to find any work that might be available to them, but it isn’t much.

To make matters worse. Shinpachi and Kagura still haven’t been paid. They turn their attention to Gintoki and his habit of pachinko – and all the money he wastes on it.

Before they have a chance to confront him, one night Gintoki comes home drunk and finds that an alien spaceship has crashed nearby. As he approaches, a fatally injured crew member comes out of the ship. He’s holding a strange, clock-shaped device. He gives it to Gintoki, telling him that it is incredibly powerful and that it must be kept safe.

The next morning, hungover Gintoki smashes the strange device instead of his alarm clock. Alarmed, he looks outside and discovers that time has come to a standstill.

He gathers Kagura and Shinpachi to help him inigure figuring out how to fix the strange clock device, but it’s never as easy as that, is it?
